Sending BTC from Ripple to Bitstamp Gateway is not working

Comments

kurious commented May 21, 2013

Bitstamp says it is looking into this, but it cannot be done right now.

Since Bitstamp is the only Gateway I know of – my BTC are now stuck – this is a big kwestie, spil I have a few ter there and right now the Gateway is Te but not OUT.

So it is not indeed a Gateway both ways – just one!

Please advise what you are doing about this?

rupert23 commented May 21, 2013

I just tested it and it’s working ok for mij.

MarkusTeufelberger commented May 21, 2013

Are you sure that you hold Bitstamp IOUs? (issued by rvYAfWj5gh67oV6fW32ZzP3Aw4Eubs59B)

Actually WeExchange seems severely cracked right now, I have about a quarter coin stuck there and whenever I inject the transaction hash te their form, their server seems to time out/go down.

vhpoet commented May 22, 2013

What’s your account? How to reproduce the kwestie?

JoelKatz commented May 22, 2013

Reporting that something “is not working” is not a helpful problem description. What precisely are you attempting to do? How far do you get? What goes wrong?

ripplefan01 commented May 22, 2013

I have not had a problem with it the last duo of days myself. Sometimes you can not send BTC from Bitstamp to Ripple but I have never had a problem sending BTC from Ripple to Bitstamp.

JoelKatz commented May 22, 2013

I think people are just either asking Bitstamp to redeem other issuers’ balances or they’re not injecting the destination tag. Bitstamp support is most likely telling people to wait because their key people are still out of country for the Bitcoin conference. I believe if you do things correctly, it will work. The two most common mistakes are:

If you want to redeem Bitcoin at Bitstamp, you voorwaarde have an asset Bitstamp has agreed to redeem. Ripple is a network of voluntary participants and Bitstamp has no obligation to provide you a service they have not agreed to provide.

You voorwaarde send to the Bitstamp withdrawal address with a destination tag indicating which account to credit.

Not sure what you mean, I waterput BTC te via Bitstamp, traded for some Ripple a little, then sold some back into BTC, then determined I needed to take one out and it does not work, it says ‘transaction successful’ but Bitstamp sends it back a minute straks.

That’s all I know.

I am doing the process right, I waterput BTC te, but I can’t get them out – trust set up ok, BTC ter ok, ripple and BTC there, can’t get BTC out.

Biststamp is no help 🙂

But Ripple says it sees no problem either. Meantime my BTC is stuck ter Ripple limbo

Considering others don’t seem to be having the problem, one troubleshooting workaround is to create another ripple account and transfer some BTC to there and attempt to send that to Bitstamp and see if it will work. It may cost .2% but just take a token amount (like .1 BTC) and attempt it.

Joel, I know you guys are working hard to improve the toneelpodium, so thanks ahead of time for all the hard work. Just wished to let you know that I’ve experienced something similar with sending BTC from my Ripple wallet to Bitstamp. Details are that I sent 1 BTC from my Ripple wallet to Bitstamp Ten days ago. The XRP were debited from my account and converted into BTC, but the BTC never demonstrated up te my BitStamp account. It’s spil if they’re just lost. Te case it’s any help, Transaction # A738082C1F75A46CADA749EC1E57A546C2E995D4EA423E638D25EB4DD33AAA47

did that BTC everzwijn come through te the end Swimbo?

same problem here, wasgoed working yesterday for mij.

MarkusTeufelberger commented Nov Nineteen, 2013

https://ripple.com/contraptions/informatie/ says your destination tag wasgoed “999999999” – are you sure that this is the destination tag Bitstamp talent you? Ter the end they received your money but they likely do not know which of their accounts they should credit it to. I would recommend to voeling their support, if you entered no destination tag or the wrong one. If you entered the keurig one and it wasgoed picked up by Ripple spil 999999999 that might be a problem/bug. I doubt that tho’.

Edit: It seems that swimbo had the same kwestie.

seahorses commented Nov Nineteen, 2013

This destination tag is not onberispelijk, I selected my voeling name, with a

decent BTC address, the client bugged.

Ter my previous transactions to the same BTC address, the destination tag

is the same, and the BTC address doesnt voorstelling up, but that time, I

received my BTC.

Here is the previous transaction ID, it went through fine:

It seems that the BTC is being sent from Bitstamp to the address I have

requested, it worked previously, but not now.

This is enormously annoying, spil I thought that BTC te my ripple wallet

wasgoed actually ter BTC not the IOU from Bitstamp.

Regardless, I have opened a toegangsbewijs with Bitstamp support, but they are

slow and also they are not responding to my specific request about this

If possible please refund mij to 3000XRP I spent, and also fix the bug

with Bitstamp IOU’s and BTC transactions.

So you did not want to deposit BTC at the gateway, but use the bitcoin bridge instead! I would recommend to just voeling Bitstamp supoprt about this, spil you seem to have included the same InvoiceID (ter which your Bitcoin address is encoded), also they seem to have frequent hickups regarding this. The operation of this bridge is te Bitstamp’s arms and there is little you can do from the client side. Also this does not seem to be related to this bug at all, since you want to use the bitcoin bridge, not deposit to a Bitstamp account.

I also attempted sending Ripple several times directly to the Bitstamp

ripple gateway, but it just bounces back!
